GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic (Fiberglass)), Anti-Slip flooring has been used in industrial environments for some considerable time; around machinery or for fork lift truck routes. More and more it is now seen in public places; from railway platforms to swimming pools, from leisure parks to airports. Domestically GRP gritted flooring is widely used to cover worn and slippery decking boards, in fact it’s used anywhere there is a potential slip hazard.
There are various types and grades of grit used in the production of anti slip flooring, from Ultra-Fine, often used in swimming pool environments, to Coarse used mainly around oily machinery.

Commercial Considerations

- Serious foot injuries £14,500 – £22,650
- Severe knee injuries £15,500 – £56,000
- Hip or pelvic injury £2,175 – £76,350
- Wrist injury with on-going problems £7,375 – £14,250
And it could be a lot worse……

Cleaners had moped the original spillage but the worker fell heavily at the same spot because the floor had not been cleaned effectively and was left greasy. |
